My employers are offering me the grand sum of 26p a mile to drive to f****** Newbury and back god knows how many times, and I have just calculated that it costs me 40p a mile to run my 200...

Do I:
a) Quit and find a better Job
b) Pretend my car has broked down
c) Refuse to go
d) Buy a cheaper car... No, forget this one
e) Sulk
f) Claim I am sick like I did yesterday
g) Go to Uxbridge first to pick up a companmy car, but it's just as far http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif
h) Get the train - via FU**ING LONDON!!!!!
i) err...

I've got an answer for that type of request from my employer:
"I will NEVER, repeat: NEVER pay for the joy of working!"
I think it matches your c) answer... http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Anyway, my work condition and job stability (?) may differ from yours...

May not help, but that's my opinion!

Cheers

Fabien

You think their tight , my employer gives me a piddling 13p a mile - ok they give me £350 a month car allowance too but 13p is crap. My last place gave me 49p a mile.

I like j, but then what do you expect - I can generally be found on one most nights! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif
29p is shyte mate - I used to get 40 - why is it so low??
Refuse to do it if you can prove it will cost you more than they are offering - Im sure they cant fire you over something like this.
At the end of the day, your car is your car and the company cant make you use it for toffee - get them to supply you with a company car if you NEED to drive somewhere
Oh, and good luck! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Is this classed as business mileage?
If so, are you insured?

I'm not insured for business mileage, I think anything you can claim mileage for counts as business use, and I have already played that card - and the c**** offered to pay the extra on my premium...

Then if you tell them that your mods are so that you can get your work done faster, will they pay the extra on the premium for those as well?:

My company pays the industry standard 45p /per mile. I can make (and am) a killing from this! Took home an extra £509 this month! This has nearly paid for my new jap engine!! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Refuse to go if thats what they are paying a month! What a ****ing cheak!
