Can you figure out what side of the road they were supposed to be on??
That is truly one of the most incredible pieces of driving Ive seen - and for two of them to be doing it is unbelievable http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/eek.gif
Surely they must be pro drivers on some kind of closed road??

Interesting.

Looks like Australia to me.

At the very least these guys are club racers - notice how he lets the steering wheel straighten itself. Not many people have the bottle to let go of the wheel when sideways at 50+mph

Nothing amazing about the standard of driving - they're not going that fast per se. Sideways everywhere is not the quickest way from A to B.

I'd be really impressed if they where doing this through the Kielder Forest.

Its a damn sight easier to drift on mud/gravel than it is on dry tarmac.

I disagree.

Although it is easier to break traction on loose surfaces. It is also far easier to cock it up - make a mistake and momentum will carry you off and into the trees. At least on tarmac you can recover quickly because the transition from slide to grip is achieved far quicker.

And Kielder doesn't have crash barriers and a predictable linear surface

You guys, that video at the top is footage from Japan... Its called "drifting". You should know this! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

And the standard of driving is awesomely high, the aim of drifting isnt to be fast from A to B and keep the car on the grip limits, its to pass those limits but still be in control... Basically have fun. And notice how nothing comes the other way? Cus this is the norm in Japan, and all people on the mountain know whats going on and only travel in one direction mostly.

This style of racing is known as Touge. I will wheel my site out once again so you guys can get what im on about.

You cant ever go home! Or you could just go down the other side of the mountain where no one runs? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

Whats so special about scientific research on a road with crash barriers and nowt coming the other way? 'specially when you've got mental power skylines?

Last Skyline I drove (non V-spec) had 435bhp and with a bit of provocation would slide like a MKII Escort with bald crossplys on sheet ice.

Do a tailslide course similar to whats advertised in the back of quality motoring mags and you'll find out that with decent power, good surface and big enough balls you can slide for hours.

Big Balls do make a quality driver.

And its I'm not Aryton Senna thank you very much. I'm Nigel Mansell - only without the top lip caterpillar.

That Skyline is a GTST, that means RWD. That also means balls of steel and awesome driving ability... http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
