2000 Professional. Don't fall for that XP/98/ME crap.

Or Linux of course. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Windows 2000 Professional

Only use linux if you dont intend to play games..

Win2k doesn't crash much, has good driver support, and runs games / modems / network's well. I have it on both PC's here and I can play -almost- any game (Viper Racing doesn't work - boo hoo).

I have both computers on Dual boot anyway - the first one is Win98 / Win2000 and this one is WinME / Win2000 - a good compromise if you have any real legacy stuff that needs running, but I'd be happy running pure Windows 2000 now. Stability is nice http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

I'll go for that then.
Cheers all

Thanks mate, but I already have a genuine '95 and I think I must have a '98 somewhere cos that's what I'm running now.

XP's good after intial teething problems. Very fast indeed. Which is weird cos it was R E A L L Y slow to start with, but my notebooks audio drivers were giving it bad karma! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

Off to get me some GOOD KARMA

My experience of XP is "use Win2KPro"
Found it rather less stable than 2K here.

If your happy to pay for the privelige of being a microshaft beta tester, go for XP.
If youre not the gambling type, go for w2k pro

I never could take good advice.
Anyone know how to get rid of XP, I had Win 2000 installed on my hard drive today but it keeps trying to load XP and crashes when I try to boot 2000, saying stuff like it hates me and my car and everything else about me.
Or am I just paranoid......

I'm frightened to try anything at the moment.
I'm back on '98 after a fortnight of faffing around with hard drives, cd Roms and software.
After all that it seems they fitted some duff RAM when they threw the thing together, I can only assume that they didn't test the thing after fine tuning it with a hammer.
