Are you sure you have an S14 ECU and not an S14a one - seeing as you have a 96 S14?

In case you have an S14a ECU, I've attatched the giff that Phil Morrison and Ben Taylor did ages ago.

head unit and amp wiring

TO REMOVE HEAD UNIT
pull centre console vent and switch assembly (above stereo) out and pull off the plugs to switches, pull up the gearstick surround from the back of the surround (mounting clips are at the back) and lift up out of the way this doesnt come off without removing the gear knob.
undo 5 screws, 2 top under vent surround and 2 under gearstick surround and 1 hidden behind ashtray
pull stereo assembly out slightly to reach cig lighter power supply and light remove both connectors.
remove head unit wiring connectors and ariel
remove assembly from car and change head units.
WIRING AN AMP (remove the vent and gearstick surround)
remove switches from console(just push from underneath and dissconnect)
2 screws at front and 2 in cubby box and take out console.
remove rear seat bottom half
run rca leads, remote turn on and cd changer lead and run them along the tunnel under the plate and carpet into seat area behind remaining half of seat into boot.
POWER LEAD
remove wheel arch liner and find bonnet release cable.remove kick panel cover for fuse box and remove sill plate.pull off side panel behind driver(you dont have to remove this but easier without lower half of seat)
from battery along engine bay to hole in wing in front of driver through wing into wheel arch find bonnet release cable feed cable through here and into car.
lift up carpet and feed along the length of car behind rear panel and up into boot.
SPEAKER WIRING
the rears are easily accessable and can be wired without any trouble after removing the parcle shelf
the fronts can be a bugger so i will start with the easy side

Oil filter! grrr

Here's a quick bit of genius with regards to removing really stiff oil filters!
join together 2 40mm jubilee clips (or 1 that fits already) and place over the filter. do it up tight using a ring spanner, but obviously stop before you crush the filter!! when its tight place a screwdriver over the screw head of the clip, and smack with a mallet to your hearts content! which will gradually loosen the filter. keep undoing, repositioning and tightening clip, until filter is loose enough to undo by hand! awesome
