    Crail Drift day 27th August

So after much to-ing and fro-ing and many e-mails we now have a black and white guarantee from crail that we will have closed track days from now on!

So to the third SXOC drift day of 2011, which will be held at Crail raceway in fife on Saturday the 27th August.

We have been having pretty regular drift days here for the last couple of years, and everyone agrees they are excellent value for money, and great fun.
    Basically, Get involved!!
The format for this one will be 35 drivers paying £40 as a non member, and £30 as a member of SXOC.

Members get till 29/07/2011 to fill the spaces before non members are allowed, except for ade, dave 2 sheds and ren.
    So thats one week bascally

Membership costs £20, so basic maths tells you if your planning on attending 2 or more of the 4 days i plan to arrange each year, its beneficial and cost effective to be a member, nevermind the many other benefits of membership

The list below shows who has paid, your name will not appear here until i have confirmed the paypal payment has arrived.

There will be NO PAYING ON THE DAY, now absolutely agreed and in BLACK AND WHITE from crail which means if u want a place, u will have to pay for it in advance.

Turn up on the day and you will be turned away

The day will run from 10am to 3pm

There will be 35 spaces which all need to be filled, no more and no less, exactly 35.

So ill say from now, Saturday the 23rd July till Friday the 29th July the payment window is open only to members, and those stated above as exceptions.

There will be no list of "I want to go" cos its bollox, the only thing that secures your space is the money in SXOC's paypal account, details of which are below.

If for whatever reason you have to pull out of this after you have paid, it will be up to you to sell your place, no-one else, SXOC will help where it can, but please remember it is your responsibility.

Helmets are recommended but not compulsary (unless u drive a soft top, in which case they are compulsary)
Roll cages and fire extinguishers are strongly recommended, but again not compulsary

    Spectators and passengers are free.

NEW BBQ will hopefully be on site, as will be the awesome chef logie 89 and food will be available to all members whether taking part in the day or not.

    To pay:-
payment to be made through paypal as usual and as the picture below:-

So its to be sent to events@sxoc.com, under the personal tab as a gift, and as a non-member you will be sending £40, and as a member you will be sending £30.

Onto the next tab and it will be as below, except the date obvously

So in the subject box "SXOC August crail day, Username (whatever ur sxoc username is)"
In the message box "SXOC crail day 27th August 2011"

Almost everyone managed this perfectly last time, lets hope for the same again

I will update this post with those who have paid.

David, the track layout is completely different compared to the normal Crail days, a big drift track is made using up the quartermile and time attack sections so there will be no Drag or TT on this drift day

    For trying to help anyway

no offence but the last "gripper" to grace the SXOC drift day drove like a flange. Please don't encourage them, unless its to make numbers up!

gutted I'm gonna miss this one, I'll be in Canada

aww i'm gutted i'll miss this, my car will not be drive-able by then. unless it gets mapped before then and there is still a space i doubt it'll be on the road. i'm away to start my stage 3 work so it'll be a busy few weeks for me but i doubt it'll be mapped before this crail date.

i'll try get a space if everything goes to plan but if not then gutted i've missed probably the only other dry day of the year..

that is fair comment but nobody is really interested in organising grip track days in scotland. So from that point of view the membership isnt really worth paying if those wishing to do grip days with fellow sxoc'ers are not catered for.

the only real option is to pay a fortune to go on one of track scotlands (well organised) days rather than have a discounted day like you would get with drift driving.

The last guy on the track doing grip driving was in a Scooby and he was just an idiot.

Grip is fine as long as anyone on the track knows that its 99% drift driving therefore drifters get right of way and track position...

I'll pay as soon as I get paid

Jamie confirm with Kev, but I think it should be ok.

Just don't moan when all the stones fire up and hit your car! :-p

    grips for homos.

    paying now.

in my opinion we should only allow grippers if we need to make up numbers or if they are going to be camera chase cars
