My s14a petrol to e85 to petrol once again

I've had the car over a year now so I thought I'd start a project thread of my own. Mine is a little different to the others as I've done feck all since I bought it

but I'll be trying to step that up a bit more through the summer

    Anyway...

Here's how she looked when I bought it:

    It had the following spec:

    Blitz SUS airfilter,
Blitz Nur Spec-r, 3" front pipe & decat,
    Denso IK24,
    Walbro pump,
    Autobahn 88 fmic,
    Manual Boost controller,
    Exedy paddle clutch
OZ Superleggera III 3 piece split rims,
    Apex Gen 1 Coilovers,
    clear lenses, 6k HID kit

The first thing I did was invest in some decent rubber, 225/40 falken FK452'S all round. they replaced some passed their sell by date Bridgestone S-02'S.

I drove the car for a while and then while bringing a mate for a spin one day, I missed a shift and after some double de-clutching I found myself with a very stiff feeling 5th gear. I managed to get her home and that's when I discovered my lack of 5th and reverse.

This was my initiation to the "My 200 is broken club", one that I know alot of you will know only too well.

The car was off the road for 2 months while the damage was inspected. It turned out to be a selector fork which was subsequently replaced and the box rebuilt. In hindsight I really should have just bought a second hand box as it cost me an arm and a leg to fix. But you learn from these mistakes

This was the drama. The progress will follow:

One of the first things that needed to be addressed was the brakes. The drivers side front was sticking pretty badly and after discovering some thread damage I decided to source some replacement calipers. (Cheers Buckie )

So i got a hold of these:

I also picked up some braided lines from Apex

With help from my Mate we fitted them to the car.

    Safety first

Something that I probably should have mentioned earlier but I'm known for my car cleaning exploits. I won't clutter up the thread with it but If you have any interest in "detailing".

    Check out my previous thread:

    http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=369499

This moves me on to one of other mods.

I picked this up from eBay.com

Myself and my brother went at the car with a heat gun, some rubbing compound and our finger nails.

    Started with this:

    In progress:

    Bye bye Nissan badge:

    New badge fitted:

When I got the car it was running a Exedy paddle clutch.. after 10k daily driven miles it looked like this..

and the flywheel looked like this

It was replaced with a controversial clutch, eBay FTW

There was a recent SXOC Ireland rolling road day. Here's my car on the rollers

Made a modest 252bhp 237lb/ft which I'm happy with as its running stock management. This is something I'm looking to address later in the year.

Thanks lads. Ye the car was a good one when I got it.

I don't want to be one of those twats that buys someones elses hard work and kids on it was all them so the only things in the thread will be things that have been added/changed since I got the car.

As for the clutch. 1200 miles so far and its holding up well. I know its not going to take masses of power but it'll certainly be fine for my current needs.

I have few more parts that need to go on camber arms, toe arms, braided turbo lines and I'm changing a few things in the interior too. more updates to come

ive got one of those clutch and flywheel set upd from xtd,

im running over 400bhp with it so far and its fine, the only time it slips is if you rev the engine very high then dump the clutch, but you feel the pedal drop slightly when you do this so its obviously just the springs are not man enough for mega revs.
if i just put my foot down and give the clutch a quick kick it will light my sticky 245s up in second no problem. and no clutch slip at all
    definately a good bargain clutch

nice car too by the way

Haven't updated this in almost a year Thought I'd start giving some updates as I'm finally making some progress and have more of the parts I need.

So what are these parts I hear you ask. Well....

    Apexi Power FC L-Jetro

    Nismo 740cc Injectors

    z32 AFM

    Braided Turbo lines + Gaskets

    Subframe locking collars

Full bushed Apex Alignment arm kit

    Apex Short Shifter

I have a few more bits I need to photograph and a few more parts that are in transit, watch this space...

The XTD clutch has now clocked about 9000 miles, a few more and it'll have out performed the previous 3 puck Exedy paddle.
