    Race preperation (restoration)

Ok last year I decided to take my ARDS test and race the S13 in the BARC NW Championship 2008.
After a faltering start to prepare the car (I'm about two months behind schedual) I,ve just had a week off work on the sick so I have managed to do some work on the car.
As I'm a tight wad and haven't renew'd my membership, I thought I show you some photos of my progress here.
Some pictures are a couple of months old, and some are upto today, I'll post more as the preperation continues, bear in mind that the car is not a show winner, the work is purely for safety and not for looks.

    Oh how I hate electrics

was very nervous stripping the wiring loom, to the point of reconnecting, battery/ECU every so often to check the car still started ok.

After much welding, scrapping, cleaning and basic spraying, the car is presently in the condition of the last picture in this series.

I took nearly 5ltrs of petrol and a scrapper to clean off the remaining crud left behind after the main bulk of the sound proofing was removed, three tins of primer just to get it to look tidyer, the cabin will eventually be sprayed red to suit and make it look much cleaner and tidyer..

I'm hoping to have the car ready for it's first race at Rockingham April 19-20th, failing that it will be at Oulton pk in May26th.
I'm a bit nervous about Rockingham, far to much concrete to bounce off.
There's a hell of a lot more to do yet

Sounds like a tight schedule Good to have a solid date to aim for though What spec are you aiming for, how far can you go within regs?

Hi. The bracket you switched, below the radiator. How much was it, how was it fitted (I am thinking welded), was it a bad job? Thanks.

    Good luck racing.
