Soooo close but they are not on that pic. They might be in the "clips or miscellaneous " section.

This is where they fit on the subby

I know that electrolytic corrosion between dissimilar metals occurs, the thing is though, the diff backplate is made out of some sort of alloy, the diff itself is cast steel and the bolts are carbon steel!
    Quite a mix of materials

Sorry I don't know what CFM it is. It's an Ingersoll Rand type 30 and I bought it second hand about 15 years ago

I would recommend removing as much rust as possible before using a zinc based primer.
It doesn’t say what % is zinc. Quality primers contain more than 90% metallic zinc. The binders are also very important, it’s imperative that quality binders are used. You can’t apply sikaflex over it either.

Is there a chance it will distort with the heat? I have spoken to a company in Manchester who basically said it “should” be OK. I don’t want to knack it up after it’s had a couple of pieces welded in. Thought you or someone you know might have a definitive answer

Oh and a massive to j4mes for sending me the clips

Helps me out big style It's the small components and attention to detail that make all the difference to me. In your package you sent a rubber seal that goes behind the plastic plug that fits in the sill – I was one short! Oh and I broke about 6 clips. I am now sorted

    Once again thanks

Good progress today This is how I supported the fuel tank straps to spray them. It’s just a matter of rotating the screwdriver to do the other side.

ARB brackets - I sprayed the back first, then did the front

One side of the subby done. 3 coats wet on tacky. 15 mins between coats

    Close up

More pics later cos I know you like em

Just out of curiosity: with all those layers of paint, have you ever run into clearance/fitting issues when putting it all back together?

Yeah the bushes are fine. The car’s had an easy life really, it’s mainly been used for touring.

No, but paint shrinks a lot when it hardens. It’s also worth mentioning that 2K paint, when air-dried, usually takes around a month to fully harden. 40 mins in an oven IIRC

    Nismo shockers were going rusty

I don't think the paint on them was up to much so I have sprayed them

    Disk baffle

The boot carpet had a quite a few stains in it.

I mixed up a solution of washing powder and hot water and just poured it on. The carpet is fragile and scrubbing is a nono. I just left it to soak overnight and carefully hosed it down. Sorted

Talking of fragile, this is the liner that goes at the back of the boot. It had "furred up" quite a bit

    So used this

    Came up a treat

That's probably the only bit of trim that needed fettling
