turbo question..

looking on here..

http://www.nengun.com/catalogue/search/

under the forced induction and nissan silvia s14 search and it has the GT RS HKS turbo that i am after.. but i see that there are alternatives in the form of trust and greddy units..

now.. im not hot on turbos but the price seems amazing..

i'm looking for about 350hp is there a trust unit there that will do that well or is the GTRS still the daddy?

There is a trust unit that has the same sort of flow charicteristics as i looked at it for a while. I cant remember for the life of me what its called though not much help im afraid.

There was a lot of info on fresh alloy about it.

I opted for the HKS in the end as thats what i was recomended by APT as they new the results would be good.

I had a T518Z. Very quick spooling, easily capable of 350hp. Possible boost creep issues on some cars.

The HKS GTRS is exactly a Garrett GT2871R 52 trim 0.63 or 0.86 (dont know that one lol)

According to the HKS website - cams, injectors, maf, metal HG and ECU is good for 400ps at 1.4 bar.

Its a GT2871R with the 52 Trim compressor wheel and a 0.64 a/r exhaust housing, and it will bolt straight in place of the standard turbo.

For reference, i've got a HKS GT2540R fitted to mine, Its rated at 370 bhp max.
Running just 14psi at the moment and hits full boost at 3700RPM

neither do I tbh, maybe on japanese 105 ron or something lol

It will still be an excellent turbo from all reports ive read, and i do believe vez is very happy with his running about 1.6bar on ponys.
