top mount turbo kits

Hi guys decided after a long think too give the rb engine swop a miss and go in another direction ( i will be buying another gtr skyline in the near future ) keeping the silvia but going big turbo route, the greddy kits are just too expensive but came across a what looks to be a superb kit from the states http://shop.hybridynamics.com/index....rodID=233&HS=1

does anone have any experience with this kit

It certainly looks good and Ben Taylor's been pimping it to anyone that'll listen so it should be ok.

The great thing with the Greddy kits is that they're very comprehensive and include intercooler connection pipes and air filter connection pipes. Neither of which you get with this kit. Minor issue, though.

Oi

If I'd bought THAT kit my car would be working properly...

Either way, I thought it was getting more difficult to get hold of the GReddy kits at reasonable prices?

All being well I should have THAT kit fitted to my car around february time. If I have'nt then it will be due to me bottling out and going for the more expensive 3037 kit.

This is why I'm still tempted to go for the 3037 kit Bren. It's a hks kit and I dare say that it does exactly what it says it does on the tin. I don't have a price on that kit yet but I'm sure it's a damn site more pricey than the 3076r kit. Papa reckons that the 3076r is virtually the same kit as the 3037 but a damn sight cheaper. I think I'll sit on the fence until Ben gets his car sorted and go from there.

The theory is all well and good but theory and practice are often very far removed from one another.

I have proven this through actual testing of products.

Having doen a lot of testing of various kits and components and having seen the results I personally wouldnt, and dont, screw around

Id like to see how the hell youd better the Greddy kit that our Skyline runs. 500+bhp @ 1.5 bar and full boost from 3500rpm right upto 7800rpm. Thats a pretty sweet damm result to try to better.

I know its a Skyline and not a 200 but you get my point, the Jap kits do the job, why go for a relative unknown? Its not price as theres little in it.

Do you know if greddy do a kit which is similar to the hks 3037 or indeed similar to that of the 3076r?

I had thought about that kit originally but it does'nt appear to have worked for papa as it should have. From that Ben swayed me towards the garrett unit. ND reckons that the 3037 kit is THE best kit available fir the sr20det for power levels around 500 horses but at £4112.50, I don't want to be buying it from him.

www.nengun.com you can pick up a greddy kit for half price of what you'll get it for over here, and if you're looking at importing from the states there's no difference in chances of gettin caught out by customs etc. well worth the hassle

I was also told by a tuner outside of the board that the GT series turbos, and hks equivalents are the best available. Apparently td's and kkk's are old technology

Ideally I want the 3037 kit, just not at ND prices. Greenline reckon that it's no longer available (at least not from them anyway). I'm gonna have to keep looking. If Greddy do something very similar then I'm definately interested.

No, get hks or garrett, lol. Joking, it's entirely up to you mate. Wherever you get it, the hks kit will be more expensive than the others...the hks turbo is made almost entirely of garrett components, think maybe with a slight difference to a housing...difference in performance i doubt will be very noticable, price difference will be immense!
