After my love-tap with the Armco at the nurburgring it seemed daft to repair the old shell. It was the worst part of my S13, and it showed in how much the chassis flexed.

Goodbye G848 ECW it will have a final "bow-out" in full battle-scar mode at the Apex trackday and then will be stripped.

... and hello to my new S13, to be picked up at the start of next month.
    Click for bigger pics

The old S13 came a VERY long way in a very short time, not without the help of the SXOC and in particular Graham @ TopGearNW where the S13 almost lived on his ramp, and the board traders Bren and Gary, for supplying many a "go-faster" part. I'll make a quick list but boud to miss somebody. Thanks for help, parts or advise ---- Yak, Buffy, Marty_T3, Petrol, Stone, ShawJohn, Nismo Pete, Pete@RAA, Tenman, Jez, AlanJuggler, Steve@EMS, Kev, Tony2sx, Kirunji, I_need_£, Lennie, Sideways Danny, Staff of Apex, APT, & TopGearNW

Spec is/was considerable, I think quite a few of you followed its progress in this thread and will know how much joy it brought me - even some silverware

Just for Philbo Baggins of the Shire

There's a couple of really minor dings in it, nothing serious, barely noticable in fact.
The suspension turrents are immaculate i shit you not. It's a very clean car

The only rotten bit is the tailgate, which is a bit worse for wear.
I'll get you some pics later on mate, it really is immaculate, i figured it might interest you, especially with the amount of trackwork you do as it's a nice rigid straight example you'll be amazed when you look underneath it, this is my 6th and you know how long i've been bashing away at them, it's honestly one of the cleanest i've seen, certainly one of the least rusted ones.

Hey, its in clean but 4*4 mode.
NO! bumper mods are planned Unless charge temps or water temps become an issue. My truck-sized rad should sort the water temp problems I'll try and keep it as clean as what it deserves to be. Also it wont be a straight swap of mods, a little more than that is planned

    Cheers Bob

hope she serves you well kev

the back bumper doesn't really need a respray, it has 2 scrapes, but it's faded, just needs cutting back and lacquering really.

I'll give her a wash and take some proper pics for you. It's in great nick
As for welding the tailgate, i wouldn't bother, it's proper fcuked, get an FRP one and a perspex screen for it the rest of the chassis, and bodywork, is in superb condition, not seen many as clean in recent years that are original
Bennettettett seemed very impressed with it

Dont go changing your mind again
Cant afford FRP one, and plastic windows arent allowed in my sprint class. Looks like it wil get my current bootlid then, as thats not too bad.

I did minimal damage to the armco @ 'ring, £305.

you made a bit of a mess of that poor s13 didnt you

looks like a very solid base for a track car , i almost got a grey automatic that was totally rust free before i got mine and had the intention of converting to manual but decided against it in the end, starting to wish i hadnt looking at my sills

im assuming there are going to be a few more track specific modifications carried out to this one then

after elvingotn at the weekend is it going to be the end of the 2006 track season for you and do this project over winter or are you going to want it done asap to get a few more trackdays in this year
