Film, my s13 "race edition"

Im starting to finish the car up, and we have tuned it to 1,4bar of boost, and it goes great now, but we still havent done the fine tune to it yet. It runs a bit rich now just to be sure. I will have around 1,7-2,0 bars of boost when we are done.

But anyways...
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/9...5a2d7f3e22.htm

I will post more films as the tuning goes on.
please comment!

best regards
staffan

your car idles worse than mine, and that's saying something

a good though, looks fantastic

definitely needs more boost and a remap - i'm in a similar position at the moment, 1.45 bar and the turbo can do 1.6+

i'm just too scared

Yhea my special made camshafts are not ment to be driven in low rpms

I ran 2,2boost by misstake the boostcontroll system failed on me when I floored the pedal ones. But the logg showed that it was no problem. Just that it ran to righ. I have set the map real rich if the boost will go over 1,5 now at the start.

I hope to have time to start the real fine tuning this weekend. Planning on finish it up so I can go out on the race track 1 July.

Dont be scared Its fun with high boost
What turbo are you running? big ore small?

pretty big - GT25/40R, .70AR compressor housing thing - had to grind off half the engine mount to make it fit, i love low mount

spec list is on my sxoc page if you're interested.

i'm trying to retain some bottom end driveability though, so i'm still using a standard head - i've not gone 'all out' like you

Nice Hows the spoolup with that turbo?
My turbo should handle 650bph on standard fuel and I think it spools up nice. Even without the Antilag system on.

Nice mods on your car, are going to run standard ecu? ore will you get a standalone system later on? I see that ure using OS Giken gear kit. I havent had the time to rebuild my tranny yet. I will run with eather z32 box ore a rebuilt Tremec. How long did your standard box last with your engien? I have bought a couple of boxes just in case. So I can drive during the summer, before the engien goes out again.

What power are you putting out right now?

I gut my cams/head workin nice now, makes awhole lot of diffrence in higher rpm:s. But I still have alot of power in low revs, the engien is real strong even without boost, but I wouldent call it street driveable hehe

standard ecu has been mapped by h-dev ( ) to the mods.

i got sick of standard gearboxes i went through two reconditioned boxes and then i had a good second hand one but i didn't think it'd last long. Richie's old gearbox came up for sale at pretty much half the price of building an os giken one to the same spec so i took it

the turbo is pushing full boost just at 4000rpm.

bren (apex ) sold me all the bits that he'd used for his track s13 - at 1.4 bar he was hitting 407@fly - i dont think i'll get close to that - no headwork but slightly more boost ~1.45bar.

i'd hope for high 300s realistically but still retaining a lot of driveability hopefully - i still use it every day for work (except when it's broken )

if i get bored i can always get the headwork sorted and then up the boost more - there's still room for expansion on the current setup.

good to see some CA18 projects are still around, none of this RB nonsense

if you can hit 650ish you'll be more powerful than richie iirc. i'm not sure where bigtone was at, but we'll find out soon enough

bren didnt have a ca18det tho, he was running a ca20det so unfortunetly the engines cant be compared, the torque and spool up times etc will be totally different.

uhh, since when was bren running a ca20?

he wasnt it was a slightly worked on stock crank.

and i wasn't really comparing either me, birdy or bren - just a slight reference - i did say i wasnt expecting over 400
