Spotted a cheap Power FC! Is there a catch??

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-APEXI-POWE...QQcmdZViewItem

Does that include everything I need or am I going to be spending £100's on bits that you need to actually use it?? Seems very cheap at £430!!

Any Ideas??

Cheers, Sam

Good point but another Cat 1 alarm is going to cost £300+ so you've spent £700+ already and what do you have thats any better? may be nothing at all.

You'd have to get anything remapped if you keep changing the spec

It may not look as flash on your spec sheet but it would be plenty good enough for me

http://www.nengun.com/ you have to register to have a look but they are ok. I got my Nismo injectors from them for £265 although they do take their time.

£430 isn't as cheap as you think. Try Nengun as said. Plus it will be around £400 for mapping...

I got mine from them. Took a couple of weeks to arrive, but came with a customs charge from Parcelforce. I think it cost a total of £550, because I can remember being gutted that just after I bought it, someone was selling one on here for a bit less.

Oh well, still cheap and recommended.

I hAve always said i would have a power fc but looking at the leaps and bounds Jez chips have made im almost 100% that injecters and a chip will be done by his masterful hand.

im not a big fan of chips i have to admit, i much prefer how the power fc is mapped specifically for your car and your engines needs/running

i can appreciate theat for the money they are bloody good, and i can see that jez has got really good power out of his car using his chips, just dont like relying on something designed/programmed with a broad brush

I havnt seen any Jez chips on Escorts or Supras so i would say they were mapped for our cars only

All our cars are different though Def.

A power FC allows you to map your car to its specific modifications.

A Horsham Chip, which are very very good, assumes that you have XYZ modifications.

Not all 200 and their engines are alike

All comes down to ££ at the end of the day. Personally I went the PowerFC route and was more than happy with it, others have gone the chip route and been happy also.

yes, Jez sell stage 1/2/3 chips for cars with set mods, but you can take your car to him - he will create you a totally custom chip, if you want to be sure, or you have mods that don't match the pre-defined chips...

and thats what I'd do

Although having seen Clucks results on a stage 2 Jez chip at the witham RR at the weekend, you couldn't fail to be impressed, even if a Jez chip isn't custom to your actual car its obviously much better than a std map
