Spoiler Question...

All,

my spoiler and side steps arrived recently from Japan and I'm about to get them fitted and the whole car repainted. Before doing so though, I need some help in fitting the spoiler, more specifically some measurements.

Could anyone please provide me with some measurements for the location on the boot (trunk) of the spoiler mounts.... I'd be very grateful.

Some close up pictures of the mountings and of the side step mountings would also help

Cheers in advance

Chris

please help on the original request... I'm worried the crazy people fitting the wing on the car will put it on in the wrong place... they've already screwed up the headers and half of the exhaust

I'm ready to kill "she who must be obeyed" for forcing me to let another pair of hands work on the car... why don't women ever understand that the only way to get things done properly is to do it yourself!!!

Oops. Completely forgot about this.

Its the same as mine is it? I'm fitting a Z32 AFM this evening, so should be able to check it then. Let me know if you need it before and I may be able to nip out to the car park to check it.

Please send me a PM to remind me this evening.

Thanks... actually the sooner the better before they saw the car in half!!! thanks. There's vodka in it for you of course to return the favour (I'll be in UK as of tomorrow for a week!)...

BTW> finally had a chance to go to the post office today and pick up the package - everything arrived safe and sound - cheers, really appreciate it!

Tyoma,

spacebo.. but the service manual doesn't have much useful information on aero stuff and fitting points... good book though...

So you're in Moscow?

Tyoma,

I know Prospekt Mira of course I live in VDNKh! Are you planning on buying an S15 soon? I think right now there are only 3 or 4 in Moscow that are driveable... The difficult thing is there are no turbo S15s around

Prospekt Mira 33/1 "Olimpic plaza" - here i am almost everyday.
I plan to buy an s15 maybe in a half a year, now i drive integra.

About quantity of s15s in Moscow you're right
i know only one SpecR, blue, aero, mt, in Moscow.
4 or more SpecS, two of them manual tranny, others auto, all grey. Maybe something new has appeared.
two weeks ago one more gray SpecS appeared with VeilSide body, but it is NOT turbo

Sorry for the delay. Been stuck in a server room with a client all morning.

OK. Can't take a photo cos 1. I've no way of getting it off my phone and 2. I can't bring it in the building.

So, here's a particularly crap drawing.

I'm hoping that Nissan didn't do two different boot lids. If it didn't, you're laughing. Open the boot and look underneath. In the top left and right, you'll see a series of holes in the inner skin. The top two are the important ones. The bolt holes for the outer spoiler legs go in the dead centre on them.

The centre holes should be easy to locate after this. They go through the two longer holes. The hole in between these is for the brake light connection.

If the holes aren't there, its going to be quite difficult for me to measure unless I take the spoiler off.

Perfect picture... and almsot similar to the sketch

The timing was absolutely spot on as I'd invite the hatchet man over to discuss the location of the spoiler and was able to show him the picture - now everything is "ponyatna" (clear)...

Really do appreciate it.
