Whiteline 'Pineapple' Lock n Align Fitting Guide

OK after trying unsuccessfully to find a 'pineapples' fitting guide I decided when I do mine to make a guide so here goes..
The first pic is a diagram to show you where the bits go on a 14 14/a. You can see I've colour coded it to make it easier to see whats going on..

Here are the choices of set-up you can have with the kit ie: all round performance or max traction or drift..

    So, here goes..

    1. Locate the subframe bushes..
    2. Start on one side with the car on the ground.
    3. place the Jack up to the subframe itself, somewhere near the middle on one side..

    4. Undo the front subframe mount 'bracket' bolts as per this pic..then undo the subframe mounting nuts..

    5. Undo the rear subframe mounting nut as per this pic

    6. Use the white grease you get with the kit to grease up the rings and any parts of metal that touch them as per theses pics..

    7. Use the jack to lift the subframe and therefore give you enough thread on the bolts to refit the mounting nuts..

    8. Place some copper grease on all 4 mounting bolt threads and bracket bolt threads. Re-fit the mounting nuts and lower the subframe down. Do the same on the other side of the subframe and lower down..

    9. When all rings are fitted and subframe is lowered down(preferabley with the car on level ground), torque up all the mounting nuts to 110 Nm.(50 for front mounting point bracket bolts)

Here's how they look when they're fitted (this is in the all round setting)

Here's how it all looks from the rear

Remember too that when fitted the pineapple rings may well have lowered you car a bit at the rear so be careful and look out for rear tyre rubbing noises although that's really only applicable to lowered cars.. adjust if neccessary and Bob's yer uncle Hope this helps

I personally didn't notice ANY increase in noise after fitting. Like most peeps, I went for the all round setting.

PS. I did exactly the same coloured in drawing for somebody else a few weeks back

Cheers Yeah I went for the all round performance setting. There is no extra noise at all after fitting although with my lowered set-up I had noise from the sound of tyre hitting wheel arch but that'll be dialed out when I raise my back coilovers tomorrow & get powerstation to do another 4 wheel alignment..

yeah thats it, no extra noise at all is there.. perhaps those people that had alot of extra noise maybe didn't use the grease enough/correctly??

Hmmmmmmm, lowered on Eibachs? I wonder if your tyres are rubbing like mine were?? My car needed the suspension raising about 15mm after fitting these..and it actually took me a day to realise that that was what the horrible noise was One other thing, I loosened off my top nuts on my rear struts, rolled the car onto level ground and then did them back up again in an attempt to get them to settle right. Didn't need to as it happens but still would try it if I had unexplained noise 'cos the fitting of these does move stuff around a bit... just my thoughts..

Nope, tyres not rubbing. Its just transmission noise carried into the car because there is something more than rubber for the vibrations to travel through.
