    How to tell if you have Big End problems

    If you car sounds like this,

    then you have knackered big ends.

    But thanks for posting it, I know what kind of noise to be aware of now
    But fingers crossed I never hear that noise again.

    hi, con somebody post an image of what exactly are the big ends because i speak just a little of english and i cant find an image of them!!!

    and if somebody can post ones in bad condition and ones in good...

    Hi there,
    In simple words the big ends are like the sleeve that acts as a bearing on your piston. When you take your oil pan off you will see the bottom of your pistons. If you take the nuts off the bottom of them the bottom half should come off. Inside that bottom half (and top half) there are these kinda shells. They are the Big Ends.

    What language do you usually speak ?
    if French: coussinets d'embiellage
    ce sont les coussinets (amortisseurs) qui se trouvent entre la bielle et le vilbrequin.

    i speak spanish... thanks a lot for the link, the best explanation that someone can have... You should have talk about changing big ends bearings and not big ends because that was the confusion that i had!!

    thanks a lot, im still looking for a decent 200sx s13 here in Chile to buy one, whish me luck...
