Hi, I'm reasonably new to 200's but decided to do my own 3k oil change, after some searching there was some use full posts, but it was apparent the was no guide for oil changes for newbie’s. So here's my attempt.
Parts required:-
Oil
Filter
Sump plug washer
Tools required:-
Trolley jack
Axel stands
Couple of bits of wood
14mm socket/Ring spanner
Filter remover
Ratchet
Extension
Rag
Something to drain the oil into
1) Jack up the car and supported on axel stands, with a bit of wood between the stand and the chassis rail.
2) Clean the block around the filter and the sump plug.
3) Put a container under the sump and undo the plug with a 14mm socket.
4) Use the filter wrench to remove the filter, there will be some mess as the oil in the filter drains.
5) Clean the block where the filter seals.
6) Fill the new filter with clean oil and wipe some around the new rubber seal.
7) Fit the new filter
8) Replace the sump plug when it has finished draining.
9) Gradually fill with oil until the 'H' mark is reached (Note:- car has to be level) .
10) Check for leaks and take of stands.
11) Run the engine for a while and leave for 5 mins and re-check the level.
