Insurance deal for club members - please read

I am posting this here so as everyone can help us out with this.

I've had a mail from the insurance broker regarding a club discount scheme and would appreciate your time in responding to these question that have been posed to us, as a club.

    This is the mail:

We have underwriters willing to write a scheme, but to do so requires a detailed understanding of the club, its aims and the membership requirements. The following questions are designed to extract such information and so I would be grateful for your answers.

    1. How many club members are there ?
    2. How many vehicles are estimated to be in the Uk.
    3. When was the club established, I can see that the membership fee is £ 15.00. Is this an annual fee and is there a common renewal date for all memberships?
    4. What is the age range of members.
    5. How would you describe a "typical" member in terms of " generalisations" ?. For example are you mostly "affluent", professionals with a genuine interest in the regular upkeep and maintenance of the vehicle.
    6. Was the vehicle manufactured specifically for the Uk market
    7. Is it a popular import from Japan. What proportions are Uk/Imports
    8. What is the position on obtaining replacement parts ? Have for example Nissan a stocking policy of where there is a demand for 1 item then they will stock the item as standard.
    9. Are delays experienced in getting parts.
    10. Have you any relationship with Nissan in any way
    11. Does the club allow "anyone" to join or is there an official responsible for new members.
    12. Is there any possibility of members completing a questionnaire to determine the overall claims record of the typical member over the last 3 years.
    13. Do people "progress" to this car
    14. I can obtain certain technical information from the web site, but what reasons do you feel are relevant as to why Insurers should treat sx owners in a preferential way?
    15. Is the vehicle regularly modified and what form do these modifications take ?
    16. What comments are made to you about Insurance (good and bad), which we may need to take into account.

Please make time to do this asap, as I want to get going on this one and get it sorted, like yesterday. Mainly cos I'm fed up with the amount of mails I'm getting about it!

You may mail me directly if you wish.

    Cheers all

If the insurance guy has been browsing this site, some of you are fecked!!! lol - he probably has a list of people who he ain't gonna cover no way!!! Perhaps you should password protect the roadkills section

    So far so good

I've got a few responses to work with so far. Please keep them coming throughout the day, I know you peeps have nothing better to do while at work!

If I've got enough by tonight, then I'll be able to mail them back tomorrow and get things moving again.

    Smile

    Mailed you dan.

Come on answer the questions guys.
Just copy and paste them into word and answer best you can, obviously there are some only Admin cna answer, but at least give Dan an idea of your own mentality, (perhaps not) , what you want from the policy and how you feel about a few things.

    Please?

Dan perhaps remind us of the benefits we are hoping to get from this policy.

    Cheers,
    Jezz.

Dunno what anyone else thinks, but I'm aiming for reasonable insurance premiums! I'm also trying to sort out FREE track day insurance, inc Santa Pod too.

Re: Insurance deal for club members - please read

    >1. How many club members are there ?

Er, dunno. Dave's finding out. About 130ish.

    >2. How many vehicles are estimated to be in the Uk.

    Fook knows

    >3. When was the club established, I can see that the membership fee is £ 15.00. Is this an annual fee and is there a common renewal date for all memberships?<

June 2002, and memberships are rounded to the nearest month

    >4. What is the age range of members.

Dunno. 17-50 is probably a fair range

    >5. How would you describe a "typical" member in terms of " generalisations" ?. For example are you mostly "affluent", professionals with a genuine interest in the regular upkeep and maintenance of the vehicle.<

Yeah, I'd go along with that.

    >6. Was the vehicle manufactured specifically for the Uk market

    Yup

    >7. Is it a popular import from Japan. What proportions are Uk/Imports

    Not really. 1-2% I'd say.

    >8. What is the position on obtaining replacement parts ? Have for example Nissan a stocking policy of where there is a demand for 1 item then they will stock the item as standard.<

    Kenny_S13 can answer this

    >9. Are delays experienced in getting parts.

    Kenny

    >10. Have you any relationship with Nissan in any way

    Nope

    >11. Does the club allow "anyone" to join or is there an official responsible for new members.<

We're not fussy, but members do have to own a 200sx (except me )

    >12. Is there any possibility of members completing a questionnaire to determine the overall claims record of the typical member over the last 3 years.<

Ho ho ho - Steve, myself, and a couple of choice others should make that amusing

    >13. Do people "progress" to this car

Yeah, it's rarely a first car.

    >14. I can obtain certain technical information from the web site, but what reasons do you feel are relevant as to why Insurers should treat sx owners in a preferential way?<

We're genuine enthusiasts who've invested a lot of time and money into our cars, blah blah blah

    >15. Is the vehicle regularly modified and what form do these modifications take ?

Hell yeah. I'd say the exhaust, filter, wheels and suspension mods are most common. Be nice if we could get 'stage 1' mods like that allowed for no extra cost. Further modifications (quite common) should be considered on an individual basis, but things which increase safety (Skyline brakes, LSD, traction control) should merit a reduction in premium, or at least be balanced out against things like boost controllers, fuel computers, Skyline engines...

    >16. What comments are made to you about Insurance (good and bad), which we may need to take into account.<

    We're all nuts

    16. U get canned for any bhp increase (thats why i keep the boost turned down) and they tell lies when they say they will replace like for like.

    Good luck mate.
