It's on the left handside of the engine as you look at it from the front. There are only 2 bolts that actually hold it on but you may need to remove some brackets under the inlet manifold. Don't forget to disconnect the battery and the wires to the starter first.
Aye, theres a big triangular bracket sorta hiding it. Youll have to get rid of this, then its pretty easy to remove

thanks for the advice will let u know how it goes.
disconnect battery, then remove brace under inlet, disconnect power and earth, then from underneath use a 14mm spanner to undo the two bolts into bellhousing, should lift out easily from above now, when you reconnect the terminals, be careful not to over tighten, I snapped the copper post off, and had to solder it back on. Hope it's not raining when you do it , it did for me!!!!!!
Ucky bast. It was snowing when I did itOriginally posted by sideways danny

Wow - blast from the past
It's "easy" to get at from underneath. I changed mine 3 times last weekend before I found one that actually worked. It's not easy to see, but once you suss where it is, it's no real problem.
also no problem from above...
With a small ratchet and a 14mm thingy on it no problem !
14mm Ratchet Spanner FTW!
Once you know where it is it really is a doddle to do. I got it from underneath the first time, it was so so. I did it from over the top the 2nd time and it was easy. However, I don't have a bracket under my inlet.
is it ok to leave the bracket off then ?
I know this thread is slightly old and been revived but what bracket are you talking about?
did mine yesterday
definately easier from underneath if you have ramps.
I should weigh them all in
lol ditched mine as well because he told me too didnt have a problem with it not being there
