    Starter Motor

It's on the left handside of the engine as you look at it from the front. There are only 2 bolts that actually hold it on but you may need to remove some brackets under the inlet manifold. Don't forget to disconnect the battery and the wires to the starter first.

Aye, theres a big triangular bracket sorta hiding it. Youll have to get rid of this, then its pretty easy to remove

Hey Goon, yep as said previously, under inlet on left side, noticed when I was doing the work at chrimbo, thought it would be a bitch to do if it ever went, but apparently not. Good luck !

disconnect battery, then remove brace under inlet, disconnect power and earth, then from underneath use a 14mm spanner to undo the two bolts into bellhousing, should lift out easily from above now, when you reconnect the terminals, be careful not to over tighten, I snapped the copper post off, and had to solder it back on. Hope it's not raining when you do it , it did for me!!!!!!

Wow - blast from the past

It's "easy" to get at from underneath. I changed mine 3 times last weekend before I found one that actually worked. It's not easy to see, but once you suss where it is, it's no real problem.

    14mm Ratchet Spanner FTW!

Once you know where it is it really is a doddle to do. I got it from underneath the first time, it was so so. I did it from over the top the 2nd time and it was easy. However, I don't have a bracket under my inlet.

Y-shaped bracket that goes from the plenum to the engine mount
