Gran Turismo Battle Round 7

Round 7 will run to Monday the 21st of September at 21:00.

Events are held in Arcade mode unless stated. You do not have to enter both events to take part. Picture proof is not needed for this round as times or scores are viewable online* but I will need to know your PS3 user ID

Time Trial: Suzuka Circuit East / Nissan Fairlady Z Version S

Drift: Suzuka Circuit East / Nissan Fairlady Z Version S

The only rules are that you have your driving physics set to professional.

*: You must get into the top 100 for your scores to be viewable online, otherwise picture proof will be needed. Good luck

The 350z is brilliant at drift... but its gonna be hard to get on the score board

Just had a blast.

Managed 0.57.723 on time trial (just ahead of you uk86ze

)

and managed a decent drift of 15,700 points..

If I were to add up all the max drift points I received during the relevant practice runs, I would have max points of 19,000

- Just cant mate them together

Still, enjoying it already

Just done a 57.377. Probably going to try hitting a 56.xxx something as i am losing too much time on T1.

good choice indeed

the Z drifts SO much better than that stupid 'Vette.

So far i'm at about 11k i think, but can see 15k being possible i'm sure of it

As for TT, the least said the better

about 59.4 i think

but again, that's with pretty rough driving, so more should be possible in time.

Noticed there was quite a few of us online last night about 1am

Managed a 12646, puts me in 102 place, which is annoying, only need 30 odd points to get in the top 100. Time trial im still in the 58's with some room for improvement.

On a side note, I think we have timed this league quite, well. It should be coming to the end around the time the full game is released

Hopefully then we can hold a live race along with the time trials and drifting, and have more cars and tracks to choose from

I was on about that time, was up waiting for my baby daughter to get hungry

Im in the 58's for TT with a lot of braking, so hopefully i can carry a bit more speed by staying off the brakes.

Drifting im getting into the 10k's now.

I'm surprised! As i find a hot lap will require to be quick-reflexed with a bit of opposite lock possibly, and drifting is just, well, pushing that boundary a bit. The Z drift's beautifully. Whack on crap tyres, and attack it in 2nd gear only if you're struggling. 10k is possible with just 2nd gear i think..

2nd gear

Im using 4th for every corner (with short gear ratios)
Get the wheels spinning, and then chuck the car into the corner and hold the drift.. easy

it did take me a while to get used to the drift here.. because its so different to GRID for example.

Watch the replays from the guys in the top ten, then you can see how they do it..

Its unfortunate, as this is a well used track and car combo... sometimes we choose a car and track that hardly anyone uses, so we can normally get into the top 10 or 20.

IIRC - you used to race on the GT4 comp?

I dont even know how to change the gear ratios

I use 3rd gear for the first 2 sections, and 2nd gear for the last 2. 11,484 points so far, but my combined total is about 14,000, just cant string it together. Any pointers for section 2 and 3 would be handy - max on both of these is about 2k and 3k respectively

I'm not sure i'll ever repeat the 6k last section i got, was awesome!

After you choose drift or time trial, scroll to the right and you will have an option to "tune" your car (if you have completed the game)

This allows you to alter suspension, increase power, decrease weight, and alter gear ratios

change your rations so 4th gear replaces 3rd, and so on...
6k for the last corner is impressive. I managed to get 7k once, and now I cant get anywhere near it LOL

max that I have managed to get is around 5
