Aftermarket ignition

So, what do people on here use/recomend?

I think I have a coil on its way out and thinking about replacing the whole system considering the tuning level I am taking it to

hi i went online to nengun.com here's a link hope it works.
http://www.nengun.com/engine/splitfi...gnition-system

i bout these for my skyline last year before having the 200sx on the skyline owners forum they all go mad for these very good upgrade even if you have no probs.
i found the skyline to be alot sharper off the mark and alot crisper.

splitfire coils i will be buying some for mine too. they've also just come down in price i paid £400 for mine last year now 170 for the lot. cheaper and better than nissan ones hope this helps. did take 1 week to arrive but they say can take up to 1 month cheers graham

or get a stand alone coil pack and plug leads and run a wasted spark system, you wont ever get coils dying again and it will run alot better

Dont know much about making your own system. But teh splitfire coils have been used on 700bhp cars and so have CDI kits (HKS, AEM) but never together.

Splitfires are 170 quid sat in a shelf in japan shame they arnt sat on a shelf over here for that. Just got another demon tweeks catalogue through and they are retailing them at 330.

After doing my research my plan is to opt for split fires to get rid of the old datsun junk but any of the above will work basically

I went for AEM CDI ingition - works really well - and you get huge sparks. The CDI delivers 500 volts to the coils, instead of 12v. I used standard coil packs, and they've been fine.

something like this would do

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EDIS-module-co...QQcmdZViewItem

with a set of plug leads and some soldering you have a <£100 setup that wont break

yeh that would be a wasted spark setup, i run a 3 coil version on my skyline with no problems and get a much better spark
