yes, it's a first. well, i have occasionally finished the odd drift video (cough not rnd 4 or the final though cough)

cookie - yes, there are loads of ways to do the mod. hadn't thought of red/green. how are they wired, reverse parallel?

    Great "How to"

Grim, fab and really clear instructions.

Where I'm struggling a bit is in the parts required. I've looked on Parnells (all too difficult) and now Maplins web sites.

Would this do as the LED?
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...ldID=3&doy=3m2
5mm White LED, but what is the "mcd" thing, is it the brightness? 1800mcd to 6800mcd seems a bit jump.

As for resistors !!! Should they be carbon, what whattage etc Is it easy to walk into a Maplins and get sensible help?

I think thats the brightness, yeah, possibly stands for 'micro candellas', but that is a pure guess!
oh, and they're usually pretty helpful in maplin, you just need bog standard resistors, no need for high grade components!

    Did this today

I went to Maplins and bought a ultra-bright white LED and the resistors and followed Grim's guide today.

It all went very well and works brilliantly. Cheers Grim

Bright enough on side lights to find the switch and mega bright when the fogs are switched on.

sorry a little tardy, hadn't noticed the replies

resistors - any 1k ohm resistors will do. they do not have to be super powerful. 0.5Watt will be fine. anything bigger is fine too! probably 2p each

Terminal block any 4 way block from a motorfactors will do

The LED. I use a green one (clear lens, but green when it lights up.)

1800mcd (milli candle) is fine. 1000mcd is probably fine too. anything more will be fine. the more the merrier though!!

make sure it isn't a 12v led, as that won't work in the circuit.

The most effective way to do this is to have the fogs turn the side light circuit on when they are turned on. This way the light warning buzzer will go off if you've left them on. This is how the S15 fog stalk control works... Got reminded about them this morning after turning all my other lights off.
