    Blocked CA18DET Breather Pipe Cleaning

    Blocked breather pipeing can cause a lack of oil to the bottom end, causing more ware on the bearings...

    The engine needs to exchange gasses between the block and head to equalise pressure, the head->sump pipe is how this is achieved.

    If it's blocked at either the pipe or the cam cover baffles you get accumulation of positive pressure in the block.

    The positive pressure hinders oil flow, and pop go the bearings.

    I understand. On my block below which one is the head to sump pipe, is it the obvious one in the centre?
