Found a couple of rust spots behind the seam sealer that I packed with Deox gel and moved onto the boot.

Stripped all of the seam sealer out of the boot

Split open the sills at the rear of the boot. Just a little surface rust so out with the Deox gel again.

Carried on stripping sealer around the top of the arches into the passenger cabin and found a couple of spots that lined up with the arch on the wheel side being treated with Deox gel.

Had a look through Polofours superb thread and took note of various areas still to check so whilst the interior was out started to pull up the sound proofing on the floor under the passengers seat.

Great stuff Gary - that's some obsessive care and attention. Great to see.

Especially when we know you'll drive the tits off it as soon as you get the chance to...

    Cheers

Done a bit more work today. The rust on the panel under the passengers seat / carpet / soundproofing was just on the surface so wire wheeled it up and applied Zinc primer.

This is the front section of the right chassis leg roughly under the drivers seat. Previously removed the surface rust but knew it needed a bit more investigation.

Made the first cut and can see where the rust has transferred through.

Additional protection had been added but looks like the corrosion has spread from the spot welds between them.

Continued poking at this area found under the seam sealer around the rear passengers arch.
There are 3 different seams that meet here.

This extended through to the wheel side of the wheel arch...

Did a bit of cutting to remove the unwanted metal

Noticed some marking on the wheel arch fold above and behind the controller on the rear passenger arch, this lined up with a section being Deoxed in the wheel side of the arch.

Multiple seams here again. Cut back to good metal.

Chris was round at 9am to crack on with the welding. Chris started on the drivers arch and I started to cut some new plates for the passenger side.
