Nissan 200sx S14a touring only 44k MOT Feb 16 Metallic grey with cream leather interior, fully restored and improved!
I’m gutted to have to say it’s time to sell my P&J. Owned for 9 years, of which 7 the car underwent a nut and bolt restoration, only 1,000 miles covered since by a mechanically sympathetic owner – never being tracked or drifted just used as a weekend car.
It starts first time every time, no vvt rattle, no smoke pops or bangs, pulls smoothly all the way through the gears. It’s a pleasure to drive having subtle upgrades to improve things, the majority of the components / fluids have been replaced, clutch is light, brakes sharp and it tracks dead straight.
Fantastic paint professionally resprayed in Diamond Black (Mercedes colour) looks like a metallic gun metal grey / silver in the sun and goes blacker in darker weather cost £2k. (The car’s hard to photograph as it’s so shiny). Included with the car is the side skirts which are also painted up (no end caps) just preferred the look without them.
There is no rust on the body, the inner and external arches are spotless, sills replaced during restoration and treated with anti-rust internally plus other areas prone to rust stripped back to metal, prepped and painted such as around the sub frame mounts.
Over the last year I have fettled to ensure everything is as it should be, and even took the car to a specialist to check over the FMI set up, they ran it up on the rolling road - currently running 239BHP with minimal but significant enhancements as listed below.
Over the restoration every component and literally every nut and bolt was refurbed.

As with any car there are a couple of niggly bits which I’ve been meaning to sort, but aren’t major, I’d rather be upfront about things like this to manage your expectations:
Heater control only works on 4, have a replacement part just not fitted yet
Scratch on bonnet about 5 cm long
Doors catches could be pulled in slightly for a flusher fit – easy enough to do, just no time…
Diff does make a little noise, but from what I read this is quite common on 200’s it’s always been like it and never caused any problems
There’s the odd little speck here and there on the paint (mainly side skirts) (I’m saying this just to cover my back encase someone starts tyre kicking… I wouldn’t say there’s anything major)
Small amount of wear on side of driver’s seat
Many years ago I originally purchased what I thought was a good 200, but later found out it had been involved in a crash so decided to re-shell it. The original car (engine and components) came with only 42k on the clock which was warranted by Arnold Clark – still have this. I sourced a reasonable used shell to use and after many many man hours between myself and my dad we transferred everything across whilst restoring its components… even polished the wiring loom with Pledge, and painted the metal work inside the dash for peace of mind! The years passed by as life turned up the busy dial so the project slowed down but surely enough we got there last year!
Some of you may recognise it from the build thread I had running, here it is for you to see the work carried out:
http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.p...!-Rebuild-time!
I have a massive folder full of receipts, invoices and prior MOT on the car I purchased which includes the mileage being warranted. I’ve kept all the correspondence with the DVLA regarding the transfer of engine and updated the colour these on the V5.
Overall it’s a cracking car to drive, as everything is fairly new is certainly doesn’t feel its age, and with very minimal effort this could be taken up to stage 1 or even 2 should the new owner want to go down that route.
I have had lots of people asking me about it, and receive positive comments about how clean it is which is nice, but it’s time for me to move on due to a new addition soon arriving, hopefully it can find a nice new home.
All viewings are welcome. Proof of insurance will be needed if you want a test drive, failing that, I am happy to take potential buyers for a passenger ride.
Any questions please ask…
