    Is yours a 51 plate car by any chance ? Those catch a higher tax rate.

    Anything with 2litre engine, registered up to March 2001 should be £230/year today. That is the vast majority of S14s.

    51 plate cars were rated based on emissions, and should be £290/year

    You're correct, it's a 51 plate, forgot about the difference.

    Doesn't mean there's less rust though
