Remove all the old crap including tweeters
Fit quality comps of a 2 channels fit a sub in the boot off another 2 channels and don't bother with rear speakers at all just leave them out

I must be lucky as i didnt think the sound quilty from my set up is bad at all.

If you could hear it im sure you would be pretty impressed.

I might try and upload a vid later (not sure if that will actually capture the qulity)

    Running an Alpine CDE 142E
Pioneer ts g1604c up front still using factor tweeters along side it
Pioneer ts g1644r in the back
    clarion sub and amp

Its a relatively inexpensive set up that has clear rich bass and just the right amount of tweeter.

No complaints from me but plenty from next door.

    Just took a proper look.

Fronts are JBL GTO 607C but without the tweeter.
Rears are JBL GTO 627 two ways.

Should i just buy some tweeters and filters seperately.

Just looking at the 607c my bet is they sound pants because the tweeters been removed. The mid woofer is not designed to deliver the high frequency hence the cross over part to transition from the woofer to the tweeters

the mid goes through the crossover too then. Makes sense. I thinknits a 4x40w rms but need to check what one. It is quite old.

So i connected the fronts up to an amp and they are much better but need the crossover and tweeters! The amp i ended up using was KAC-742 4 chanel. I may use this to power the rears too. Would this be ok?

Just to complete this, i changed the fronts to a new set of jbl components through a cross over and the existing components in the rear. Used the kenwood amp to power them all and the sound is better than the Bose in my old mazda which i thought was ace. Topped off with a 12" sub and jbl amp.

Extra sound deadening will help with getting better quality sound. The doors in particular are pretty crap for mass damping.
