Which external wastegate
Hi all. I'm going to be running a gt3071r turbo with a top mount mani. I need to source an external wastegate, would anyone be able to recommend anything reliable that'll suit what I need?

tial or turbosmart seems to be the most popular, I like turbosmart because they have full spares available in the UK

Everything must go
I run that turbo and top mounted and have had both a 38mm and 44mm Tial WG's in the past, the 38 wasn't up to the job, the 44 is great

I <3 BBS LM
Another Tial here.
All I'd say is buy one with a spring that's close to your target boost pressure, don't rely on the boost controller.

Another vote for tial, the only wastegates i've used on other cars too, but heard good things about turbosmart. And for thart size turbo you'd need a 44mm one

44mm tial I'm using, and like ben said buy one with the correct spring/s.

Had lots of issues with my Tial. It was the cause of a few engine rebuilds. Using a JGS 50mm now. Much better bit of kit. Cheaper too.
But id go for the Turbosmart over the Tial if its between those two.

I've got 2 hks style 50mm off ebay on mine cheap and roughly made but work fairly well and 40 quid each

Tial MVS 38mm on mine, does the job. It has water cooling but never bothered to plumb it in. As Ben said, get the right springs, I got mine from Owens
