180sx help

Well after a good few years away from SXs, today I bought myself a nice 180sx type x.

Absolutely love it but it's a bit standard at the moment which clearly needs sorting out.


The problem is that I don't know much about 180s and what's compatible with s14s.

I'd like to run a bigger turbo and more boost, 550ccs etc but what do I do about the engine management? Are s14 'chips' compatible with my ecu?

If I need a piggy back, what would you recommend and what wiring harness should be used?

Also if converting to 5 stud hubs, I assume I can keep my original shocks on?

The 180sx SR20 is different from the S14 SR20. The ECU is different and S14 maps will be unsuitable. The Inlet Manifold is also a diffent design but I think injectors are the same for both. You can fit the same Exhaust manifolds/turbos as you can to S14s.

PowerFC's and Nistune are the cost effective proven ECU's to use

Yeah Changing to 5 stud won'y affect your shock setup. 180sx suspension is all S13 FYI.
