z32 and 345mm brake fitting issue

I am part way through doing my big brake conversion and am having trouble.

Basically i have z32 calipers and spacers to bring the caliper out however with the spacer bolted to the hub and the caliper bolted to the spacer with the disc in place, the disc is not sitting against the hub.
There is about a 10 mm space between disc and hub.

The bit that confuses me is the s14 and z32 disc height is 53.7mm

The disc i am using mercedes ml500 345mm disc height is 51mm.

therefore a 2.7mm difference and i can't see 2.7mm having that much affect.

Do i have the wrong spacers? I have kinda 10mm flat plate spacers.

Can i space the disc out 10mm?

I have fitted longer wheel studs already.

On mine theres a couple of big washers (probably about 10mm) that fit between the caliper and spacer. Which makes the caliper sit in the stock position (if that makes sense) Maybe your missing those?

Ahh i am putting the spacer on the other side of the hub ie in front if you were looking at it.

So they need to go behind and have spacer washers.

Thanks for that is a great help!

    Another question!

In others opinion what would work better/be safer.

Spacing the caliper with 2x 10mm washers/spacers, or
Spacing the disc away from the hub with a solid 10mm spacer?

    Thanks

both ways will work ,maybe having the bracket bolted solid/no spacers to the upright/hub and space the bracket to caliper
as I'm thinking of leverage effect of the caliper as it works a solid connection at the hub is better (slightly)
Have to use locktite or similar on it ,maybe even drill the bolt heads and use lock wire (race car stylee) for extra bolt security
don't be tempted to do them super gorilla grip super tight as an over torqued stressed and stretched bolt can shear easily

I'd space the caliper rather than the disk as the disk is rotating and the caliper is fixed.

I actually read the question wrong slightly,
And can't decide if either way is better tbh, you may have to just try one way and have other as option
If the disc is spaced with something that dont throw out the wheel balance, like a machined ali disc it could be better for a more
ridgid or solid brake caliper mounting if its not on spacers,(washers sounds terrible if I'm honest)
But If you use some thing like a solid spacer shim to centralize the disc and caliper,it would space out the wheel the thickness
    of the shim
so may be a good thing or it may over do wheel fitment
and it would have to be a bit of decent ali,not some cast nasty thing that could crush ever so slightly under heavy load
and potentialy wheel nuts come loose, bad things happen fast
I think a slightly floppy caliper is better than a wheel falling off
