    Valve springs and retainers

So I'm currently in the process of having my Sr rebuilt and I'm putting bc valve springs in whilst being rebuilt as I'm planning on getting cams later down te line! Putting these springs in will I need to upgrade the retainers as well or are the standar units good enough to use? Was thinking something like tomei pon cams or maybe the Brian crower cams that conceptua offer at a good price! Any advice would be great on this or other things I might have missed to run cams

I'm running stock retainers with BC springs. Also running Poncams. FR sports is the cheapest place.

Nope titanium is just stronger and lighter. The springs are only about £60 from FRsports

I would get titanium retainers. There is a massive difference in weight.

There is also a massive difference in Price!

Titanium retainers are only necessary if you want 8K Rpm's or a big valve head. Otherwise they are just expensive bling That nobody sees!

Sound that's me sold on not buying them as I doubt I'll be revving at 8k ever!

Frsport as mentioned above. If you plan on fitting cams it's advised to fit new rockers at the same time

titanium retainers are for engines that will be rebuilt on a regular basis, drag/race, not for street car engines that never get opened for years, when they fail and they do, pop goes your engine

Remember that stiffer valve springs will drastically shorten the lifespan on the VCT/VVT sprocket.
There is really no need for upgraded valve springs if you plan on running poncams and stock rpm limiter.
