    SXOC T.T. 2015 - New driving weekend!

    SXOC T.T.
    Tents in Tykeshire

    What is the SXOC T.T.?
A weekend of great driving and camping shenanigans in North Yorkshire.

Tents, 200s or whatever you have now and some of the best roads the UK has to offer.

    When is it?
Confirmed date is Friday 5th - Sun 7th June 2015

    Where is it?
Vale of Pickering Campsite, near Scarborough and Pickering, North Yorkshire

    www.valeofpickering.co.uk

Vale of Pickering Caravan and Camping Park
    Carr House Farm
    Allerston
    Pickering
    North Yorkshire
    YO18 7PQ

2 minutes from the A170 Pickering to Scarborough road. Dead easy to find.

    How much?
    For the campsite:
1 car, 1 tent, 2 Adults - Site have quoted £27. So just £22 per couple for you as SXOC members .
    Extra adults - £7 each
    Kids and Dogs - FREE
Fuel: You are looking at around 200 miles of fun roads over the weekend plus getting there and back.

Meals: Friday night, fish and chips on Oliver's Mount at around 9pm. Chip shop is at the bottom of the mount then drive up.
Saturday brekkie: Breakfast butty's on the sea front. We start the day at the Oasis Cafè on Marine drive at 9.30am.
Saturday lunch: This will be planned into the route.
    Saturday night: Grill bar meal.
Sunday: Bacon sandwich madness. Fetch a disposable BBQ and the club provide the meat and bread. Oh, and of course, the brown sauce. We are northern.

    How to book!
    1. Post here
    2. Call the campsite on 01723859280 and book your pitch for Friday 5th to Sunday 7th June. Mention SXOC, or S Whiteoak if they are still pondering. Pay your £27 over the phone.
    3. PM me to say its done

    Notes:
    1. Only SXOC members may book for this event.
    B. Your run notes will be sent via PM 7 days before the event. If you do not have a printer we will bring some copies with us and force you to chuck money into the first air ambulance box we come upon. Then you will be video'd paying homage to the box Wayne's World style < this may find its way onto t'internet. Just sayin'
    3. As per with all our runs. It is not a race, it's a rally...but not the forest kind. Tek it easssay!
Some of the roads narrow very suddenly and this should always be remembered. Some will be marked in your notes. Some won't. Also there are loads of dumbass sheep just waiting to remodel your front end. These roads can be driven most enjoyably within legal limits. They are that good
iv. Water splashes - There will be some water splashes on the Saturday route. We will provide their entry and exit points a week before giving you plenty time to find a way round to meet the group at the other side should you be nervous you will get wet feet or have no sills afterward. There will be a meet point before these to regroup so we make the most of the photo opp
    Z. Rules of the campsite must be observed. We are on a rally field but it is at the far end of a family site. So basically don't be an *****

    Any questions. Just ask.

I'd likely be interested in this. I've been meaning to explore the roads in North Yorkshire for a couple of years now.

Thanks for letting me know about this Ste! Bex is up for it but it will depend on what's going on with the kids. I'm not allowed "enthusiastic" driving with them in the car for obvious reasons. All going well, the "not a race, a rally" will fit in with the car we'll bring perfectly: D

Was that the a170 or a64 route?

If coming North the A64 saves loads of time and fuel.
