I looked at doing mine and the main bits that I can remember of hand were:

    • Metal Headgasket
    • Nissan Chain kit
    • ARP head bolts
    • ARP Main bolts
    • New Nissan oil pump rotors
    • New Nissan water pump
    • Aftermarket cams
    • Springs and retainers if budget allows
    • Forged pistons if budget allows
    • Forged rods if budget allows
    • Check / clean / replace oil spray bars

Really depends on budget. It adds up very quickly

FRSport in America and West Cost Covina (Nissan) are good for parts

depending on future plans kind of dictates what level you want to rebuild to.
If you really want to go big power go for arp studs but nissan ones are pretty damn good anyway.

if you want a basic rebuild, assess all theparts coming off and just replace seals/gaskets (buy a full gasket set) and obviously bearings, main, conrod and thrust.
Replacing the front cover/oil pump is good idea too, new timing chain guides and chain as above as well as checking the spray bars.

    Basics:

    Main bearings
    Conrod bearings
    Thrust bearing/washer
    Oil pump
    Water pump
Timing chain kit (more peace of mind and tensioner if you fancy)
    Gasket kit including head gasket

everything else should be on condition really.

Sure ive fogotten something some place!

If you're stripping it down I'd have the bores honed and change the piston rings too regardless of condition, but as said it depends on plans and budget. My SR has 230,000 miles on and is beginning to sound somewhat tired so I'll be doing all of the things mentioned above!

Budgets not huge and the cars for all purposes track/drift/shows and normal road use. I do have a tendancy to kill engines it seems this cars seen a ca and a sr die now.

I plan on spending around 1k i went to nissan and they wanted £400 for a oil pump

He can get nissan stuff very cheap. Ive got a full gasket kit off him before for a good price.
I ended up just geting a front cover with oil pump built in from nissan

I got most of my genuine rebuild bits from Courtesy nissan in the states, there cheaper and the service is very good. If the engines worn you need to factor in maching work as well. The crank may need attention and if it needs a rebore aftermarket forged pistons are much cheaper than nissan ones,

If you get ARP main bolts you need to get the block line bored which can be expensive. I would just get new Nissan bolts.
And if you get new camshafts you need new rocker arms as well.

As for the oil pump rotors I don't think you necessarily need new ones unless there is a problem with them.
