So today plugged the laptop in to see what she was doing regarding the afm.
Anyway it's hard to keep her going while the lead is plugged in yet as soon as it's un plugged its fine again is this normal or odd?

Never heard of that before, surely it should allow the car to run to monitor live data ?
Check your earths, sounds very iffy.
It's done it in both cars.
It's definitely the ecu talk lead that does it as soon as its unplugged it starts up quick and running smoothly
id say dodgy lead
I'd say lead too, is it an eBay lead and software or one from jez? Have you used it before or first time using it ?
No it's off jez @hdev it's always done it.
But the car was stripped down i haven't used it much.
Was the engine and loom in both cars?
Are the ground and power lines to the Consult connector wired up? Is the fuse ok?
Yeah it was in the s14 and now it's in the srx8
I wired it back up the same I've resync the nats and watched all the engine data but it tends to start then revs start dropping and she dies yet as soon as you un plug tenable and start her up back to perfect.
What's your battery out put when the lead is plugged in? I ask because I popped to see a mechanic mate the other day while he was working on a range rover and he mentioned he needed a jump pack while running a consult because the drain would take up too much juice.
Since you'll be working off a lap top doubt this is the problem but might be worth a look.
That was something some one else has said i do have a lot of electric including 3 ecus but it did the same in the s14a which only had 1 ecu
try finding someone local with a cable to test with
Does it only do it when the cable is plugged into the PC? Does it do it only when the software is running?
