    Potentially, but not definitely.

    What symptoms are you suffering?

Was that on a cold or hot engine?

Did you do a wet test?

Cold engine, I can start it, however it is running on 2 cylinders.

Previous owner said there was Mayo on the Oil Cap.

Started to strip down last night and water had a fair ol bit of oil in it

Compression results on a cold engine don't really mean much to be honest.
It's quite easy to get mayo buildup if the cars done lots of little trips and not really been out for a long drive.

If the HG was so far gone it would only run on two cylinders I'd expect next to no compression on those ones.

Ok then, What other things could be the problem?

Not Wanting to run the car if the HG is knackered as don't want to cause more damage.

Also am I correct in saying 8 bar is too low. Just a mention as well the car is bone stock engine wise but it seems that at some point the rad has over flowed.
Would I be best to replace gasket and go from there?

    Cheers

As suggested, do a wet test and a leakdown test before lifting the head or just take the head off and have a look.

Check for worn valves, scored bores, broken rings or ringlands, signs of det on the piston crowns, flaking carbon in the chamber or sooty deposits and the condition of the spark plugs (which will indicate other problems).

While you have the head off, its probably worth replacing the stem seals, reseating the valves and replacing the rings even fi there doesn't apear to be anything wrong with them.

You may need to get the head and the block skimmed if there are any signs of corrosion or warpage.

Use a genuine top end gasket set (which will include a head gasket) if possible. Its expensive but its a wise investment.

Genuine Head Gasket was picked up yesterday

Spark plugs were black, was also watery oil/oily water around some of them, Not sure if this was due to sitting though.

Make sure the plugs for the injectors are on the correct plugs. It's happened a lot of times where people have plugged the water temp plug and/or idle control valve plug on the injectors.

Just for clarity, that would explain it running on two but not the compression results nor the oil/water mix.

I will Check that tonight and make sure its plugged in correctly,

I think I will contiinue with removing the head, slap a new HG in and see how it runs.

Ill throw some pics of the block and head once I have split it

Yeah should of stated that lol, was just going on the bases of the compression not looking low enough to missfire.
