Thumbs up Beep driving me mad...

Bit of a weird one this, and can't for the life of me figure it out, my car has now taken to making an electrical beep whenever I go over a harsh bump/pothole etc. Lasts maybe a second or so and seems to come from the parcel shelf/boot area.

If anyone can shed some light on this you will make driving my car a very less stressful activity, thanks in advance.

Total guess.... possibly the abs ecu... as thats in the driver o/s rear door card. No idea if it does make a noise ever though.

lets try to narrow it down

do you have an after market alarm fitted?

Do you have any additional audio kit in the boot?

Do you swear as you go over the bump and is it before the watershed?

    Any news on this?

I cannot think of anything rearwards of the gear lever that could cause a beep noise

Nope, only development is I'm just that little closer to driving the car off a cliff just to stop it beeping.

Take a mate with you to a supermarket car park or similar after closing and get him to drive the car repeatedly over speed bumps while you sit in the back tracking down the noise.

Probably a dodgy connection somewhere that is making something reset resulting in a beep.

There isnt a beeper in the sx further back than the dash area.

You sure this isnt the headunit making a beep through the speakers?
