    carnauba wax

    Just a quick photo of the difference between one and two coats of wax.

    After a bit of rain last night heres the result

    Left has two coats and the right had just one

    There's something not quite right there, looks like the right hand side was waxed a couple of months ago and is starting to fail, and the left hand side was recently waxed. One coat of fresh wax, properly applied, should bead well, as you have on the left hand side.

    You can't layer waxes as the solvents in the second coat dissolve the first coat. Typically a single layer of wax left on the paint is 20nm, add a second coat and the layer thickness will be the same, maybe a couple of nanometres thicker, but just as likely a couple of nanometres thinner.
