Just noise to me and their BMW M1 video is better. Seems to be one of the few race cars not ruined by gearbox whine and other noise:

You can't say that when you have the droney SR20 dude , each to their own but imo even a NA 2 rotor sounds better than an SR20
(yes I know they sound 'better' with the vvl head and external WG'd)

I was extremely lucky to hear one in the flesh at Le Mans driven by Mr Herbert himself. Most electrifying motorsport experience of my life

you know what I've had a large amount of people tell me my car sounds nice so perhaps the Sr20 doesn't sound that bad

Agreed thats nice but imo this is the best sounding SR I've heard, skip to about 1.50 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZX3wr2d_Gk
and to stay with the rotary theme of the thread if 4 rotors is nice then how about 6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88LKZFZmE30

Andy, the BS Bildeler car has probably my favourite sounding engine of all time, the only reason I went with Suzuki-san's car is because i thought people would appreciate it more

Well, my favourite real-life engine that isn't a 2013 V8 formula 1 engine... impossible to get the sound of them on camera, the ONLY way to experience them is to be next to them (with earplugs to stop your eardrums from being blasted out of your skull). It's utterly indescribable. The only thing that can make AMG V8s and Porsche GT3 cup cars sound utterly boring.

I agree that the noise of last years F1 cars were amazing, but my favourite all time engine noise if the 2004 3.0 V10 Merc F1 engine, i had the pleasure of watching the 2004 silverstone GP and the noise is something else, so ear splittingly loud but its such an amazing noise the TV cameras just never picked it up the same!

Love the sound of the 787, but that M1 is something else
The 2004 Mclaren was the one with the harmonically tuned exhaust iirc - had a proper wail to it which really made it stand out
I am struggling to find a decent vid however

The SR is great as a highly tuned NA, think BTCC Primera or Pulsar N1 below. Awful as soon as you stick a turbo on.

Real shame Nissan didn't exploit it the way Honda does, although they were too busy going bust at the time and focussed on selling shopping cars to OAPs

I love the look of that Liberty Walk GTR.

For sound, rotaries and turbos don't do it for me. High revving NA sixes are where it's at:

Watching this makes me have naughty thoughts about old Skylines.

An M3 with the right induction kit at full pelt is also worth a wipe (jump to 1:46 if you are impatient):

    "Tru dat"

An E46 M3 always sounds to me like it's struggling to push what is a very bloated and overweight car and would rather spin up the tyres.
