Couple of things happening over last month or two.

Got a good friend to weld some straight sections into the Mongoose system like so:

Had a go at fixing my calipers and then decided to upgrade to Z32's:

The spare set of 18" wheels I got that need spraying black:

Did some tyre shredding this weekend:

Got spare diff welded up ready for fitting just needs painting now:

    S14 Zenki Drift/Fast-Road Build

My skirts arrived today, I'm going to bond them on with tiger seal after my MoT in case having them removed helps with any access they require.

Did some painting this evening and decided against painting the Z32 calipers.

    Prep work:

    Calipers:

    Painting:

    Welded diff getting first/base coat:

    More updates tomorrow.

    Cheers dude!

I thought it was probably worth logging now that I'm actually spending some time/money on it and not just driving it.

    Another update.

More or less finished painting the diff, kind of got bored of it to be honest! It'll do!

Also finished attempting to paint the wing, it's better then before but by no means prefect!

Cut down some Titanium M10 bolts for my exhaust manifold to turbo, ordered M10 aero nuts, another genuine gasket from Conceptua tuning.

Jobs for the weekend include fitting the 300ZX brakes and modifying/repairing the turbo/exhaust manifold.

Diff is getting some more welding Saturday too before fitting. Can't wait!

Doubt it to be honest, I've got far too much on at the moment. Shame really as I wouldn't mind going. 😕

Diff is completely welded, sealed up and ready to go. Wish I hadn't bothered painting it as it looks like the primer/paint bad reacted and not made a good bond.

Other developments of yesterday include removing the turbo, welding it to the exhaust manifold and refitting.

Found out I have a Forge actuator which I didn't know about!

Checked it for play and it's real tight, in very good condition with next to no play which is a pleasant surprise as I thought it might be of the way out!

    Welded the turbo to manifold.

    Refitted turbo.

Helped my mate do his Scoob brakes (which are identical to S14 brakes except the rears have an independent drum hand brake (bastard))!

Then i went ahead and fitted my Z32 aluminium brakes, gave it some fresh Dot 5.1, by god what a difference!

So..! The car comes off the road for a month tomorrow for welding, under seal, general tidying and MoT.

For that reason i drove it to work today.

Also, after learning (the hard way) that a set of tyres doesn't last 30 minutes drifting I popped up to Bristol last night and bought a spare set of wheels for the girl:

    That's about it for now!

Little tip dude. Putting bolts in a vice like that can wreck the threads. Best to put a couple of nuts on there and tighten them together so it doesn't spin and then you can clamp on the nuts.

I went for the welded approach in the end so didn't use them, thanks for the tip though!

Cheers, I seem to have a lot of motivation/time for it at the moment!

Dropped it off for Welding/MoT last night so once I get it back I'll crack on with fitting the skirts, welded diff, remounting FMIC etc etc.

So failed on rust for MOT, which was what I was expecting as the rear drivers side arch is looking pretty bad!

Also failed on rear shock not being secure (just needs tightening with C spanner) and brake pipes not being secure on the front.

So it's being left with them for welding.

Cars now off the road for the month whilst it gets welded and then I'll tidy it and put it back on the road September time.

    The red 14A?

Me (in my 14) and my friend (in his blue 14A) wondered where all these S-bodies were appearing from!
