Is that a £10k budget to find a base car or for the complete project?

Few good ones here, but beware of rust and dodgy repairs throughout. Is it a resto project or something to convert into a rally car?

Turbosport and eBay are best mate. I'm buying another one in the next couple of months to put an sr20det into, your looking at 4k ish for a half decent shell that will need patch panels and welding. My last Mexico stood me in 4500 for the shell in a right state and 16k all in. Turbosport is wicked for help and knowledge too

What's the spec of yours mate? What engine you putting in it? How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? Looks clean but what's the underneath and top plates/boot wells like? Would like to mount on a World Cup xmem we depending where the engine mounts up, if not strengthen and chassis mount.

it's running a 1.6 pinto with 4 speed box. i looks like it's had strengthening work done to the chassis already by way of box section.

It's also gonna be running an sr20 with 350bhp as well.

however today we found that the front cross member isn't what we expected as the engine is bolted to it not the chassis.

it's not a genuine mexico and i'll let steve decide whether to let you know what we paid

it's already got front discs and 4 pot brakes

The engines originally mounted to the cross member in escorts, some people buy World Cup crossmembers for them and some people mount to he chassis. You can pm me it if you want lol I won't be shocked as I spent just over 16k doing my one up and 4.5k the absolute shocker of a shell but you live and learn and I know escorts inside out now.
It you need to know anything let me know and I'll try and help, will come in handy for when I do mine which will Hopefuly be in the next few months and ready for next summer. How you planning on getting to 350bhp? What will the car be used for?

Nice mate, doesn't look in too bad nick. Look out for spare wheel well, top plates, inner wings, floor pans their the normal areas. For parts check out Burton Power and speak to Ant and tell him nutrunner or sillly nuts sent you, or rally design and speak to spencer (he knows me as George Barclay) their both great companies and each are better for certain parts so it's worth looking. Looks like you got a decent shell! Keep us updated. If you need anything let me know and I'll try to help

Ant at burtons is shit hot and Chris palmer. Rally design do tend to be cheaper on a lot of running gear parts though. What's you plans for the engine spec mate?
