Advice on applying Liquid Gasket to head when re-fitting cam cover please.

    Hey guys

I need to replace my SR cam cover. The FSM suggests using a solid bead of liquid gasket all the way round where ever the rubber gasket meets the head. But various posts on SXOC suggest only using liquid gasket in the half moon areas off the head.

Which one is it supposed to be please? Everywhere or just in the half moons?

If it is everywhere, then is it also on the inner gasket area?

    Thanks a lot.

    Jon

Should only be the half moons and iirc the nissan service manual only says to apply to the half moons as well.

Only on half moons, applying it everywhere will be a nightmare to remove in the future.

And make sure the rear ones are located properly in the head otherwise oil will piss out all over your gearbox as soon as you start it up
