    Sr20 and bc 264

Hi, last year i did an s14 sr20det swap in my s13 and i was wondering how much boost i could run safely with bc 264 cams (were installed when i bought the engine). I know i could run 14 psi on stock cams and make about 260 - 280 at fly but i have no idea when i max my injectors with these cams.

    The mods are:

    rebuilt engine with
    acl bearings
    greddy headgasket
    brian crower 264 cams
arp head, main and con rod bolts
    s14 t28
    fmic
    manual boost controler
    ngk bpr7eix spark plugs
    3 inch exhaust
    act stage 4 clutch
    stock 370cc injectors
    stock ecu

Im running 10psi now and the car feels pretty quick although i have not driven other cars with sr20.
Im gonna buy nistune this summer to get full potential of these cams and throw in my z32 maf and maybe get some 520cc sti injectors becouse they are easy to get in iceland.

    Thanks.

You need the AFR's checked really rather than guessing. Also, 264's and a T28 are a bit mismatched in my opinion. Either drop standard cams back in or get a bigger turbo.

yeah i have a aem wideband just need to install it. Also my vvt sprocket is rattling bad, you think getting stock cams and new sprocket is a better idea then adjustable cam gears when i get nistune?

    264s and a t28 = rubbish imho.
The diddy wee puffer aint got much blow in it to get a lot of use out of those tasty cams.

Imho i would keep the stock cam gear, get a 2871 at least and nistune to go with it.

Even with a 2871 I'd say 264's are abit too aggressive I'd have thought? Do you know whether your head had springs and retainers done for the cams? Not sure whether stock cams are any good for stiffer springs if so?

It's too much cam for a standard T28 dude, you would be better to flog them off, stick stocks back in and make yourself a few quid.

The springs and retainers are stock so there would be no problem sticking stocks back in.

Well it's not easy selling cams when you only have 8-10 sr20det in your country :/

Sorry mate, didn't see that you were in Iceland.

That said, stock cams are cheap!

Shouldnt be using 264s on stock head components anyway, just asking for trouble.

Keep the cams but fit uprated valve springs if it hasn't already been done.

Get a bigger turbo and injectors and shoot for 380hp

However, for the time being you'll want to keep the boost below 14psi

I'll keep the boost at 10psi for now.

I've been looking at spring & retainer kits from bc and manley, has anyone had experience with them?

Yep i used bc titanium retainers and there springs on my 264 build when i had it.
If you want to rev out an SR then you really need to do these as the stock items are guff and cause havok with arms coming off ect.

Would have thought north of 8k would be fine on the head iirc reading some yank forums when i looked into this a few years ago, still with stock (****) lifters. Solids of course are much better for silly rev builds.
Assuming the rest of the spec is up to it of course.

BC 264's are known to eat vvt sprockets, on a stock head you run the risk of coil bind on you standard springs as they are so harsh! I'm running 264 in my build at the mom and have just bought some adjustable cam gears so I can run without vvt, aswell as I'm running BC springs and titanium retainers
