    Suggestions for a set of lightweight racing wheels/tyres for SX

    Hey guys

    Currently rocking some big 18" 9.5J wheels on my SX.

    Looking for an ideal set of lightweight wheels for the track use only. I am guessing they'll want to be 16/17" and maybe about 8J something like that.

    Anyone got any suggestions for these wheels? Or is anyone selling any?

    Ideally if they don't look completely gay it would be a massive bonus!

    Additionaly what would we suggest for track tyres? With a mixture of all weather use and trade between performance and price.

    Thanks

    Jon

    R33GTR rims are pretty light and only 17" so tyres will be cheaper there are a few that use them on here for track work As for what tyre that's a topic in its self I use Fedral RSR's which I find OK haven't got the ultimate grip of the 888's but last longer and are better in the wet.

    have a look on the enki RPF1;
    http://www.enkei.com/rpf1.shtml#

    Best bang for buck wheel you can get. They are very light.
    Going for ann 18" wheel for a track wheel are just so wrong.
    17" gives you just pluss. Tire/rim wheights are lighter. Tires are cheaper.
    Only resson to use 18" is if you cant clear brakes....

    I would go for 17x8 and 17x9 in whatever flavour of lightweight wheel you choose. Federal RSR seem to be the best compromise. Toyo R1R are good in the wet as a track tyre. 225/45 front and 255/40 rear.

    Stick with same size front to back. This means you will be able to turn around tires to compensate for wear.
    Going same size front to back also give ann car thats easier to setup and more neutral.

    The enkei wheels are totaly on pair, weight varies som betwen size and ET(relly need to find the size you want and then compare).
    The enkei wheels are cheaper that both of the other wheels.

    The old wheelweights.net site is down or some other?,but I'm sure Buddy club p1's were a very light wheel,
    the one piece version was lighter than the split rim version as well iirc correctly,
    not a common wheel tbh so the search for a set in good sizes could be long

    Desmond Regamaster
    Buddyclub P1
    Advan RG II's
    SSR Type C's

    Probably the lightest wheels around.

    I have some Volk GTC's in 17x8 and 17x9 if you want them

    And the nicest wheel ever made (IMHO)

    But I'm biased, I had a set on my old 14a .

    Now they are nice. Shame the offsets a bit weak.

    Not necessarily, I sold a set of GT4's for about £500 and there was another set on here for £700 and I have not seen any RPF1's going for that sort of money;
