I have a 180sx with a empty bay Its got the redtop loom and box but I prefer the ca18det over the sr and as I have on sitting in the shed awaiting a rebuild I thought why not. I've researched this and found nothing what I need to know is what needs doing to get the ca running so far I think il need

    Ca bellhousing
    Ca engine loom
    Ca ecu

But can I use the original ptu ,afm, drop resister etc all will I need to get more ca parts to run it. I know there's gonna be a why not keep the sr etc but I'm more for the ca sorry guys

Any help would be much appreciated

You will need a ca AFM. Not sure on the other bits. Are the bell housings interchangable? Nice to hear you like the CA I think both engines are fantastic.

On the CA loom, you'll have to move the brown wire on the Brown plug that goes by the passenger headlight relay box. CA radiator too.

right theres a brown plug socket on the passenger side fuse box is that what you taking about and where does it go

also on the passenger side where the chassis rail goes theres i think a fuel line that runs round to the other side and under the car do i need to move this as im going ca?

No that's the fuel tank vent line to the carbon can.

read the SR conversion guide, it will tell you what those wires do.
you don't want to bung that pipe as its the vent to the fuel tank. just pop the rubber hose off by where it goes down to the bottom of the bulkhead.

you are going to need to fit the gearbox speed sensor out of the box that came with the car to keep it reading the same. the rev counter should work but might be a 100 or so RPM out.

I think the CA lower engine loom has the knock sensor wiring so you will need to use that.

Mazda USA have a recall in attempt to stop spiders blocking the vent line with web (and eggs).

If the vent is blocked and the cap relief valve is defective the tank can burst or collapse.
