    Bird S**t

    Advice please mate

    Came out yesterday morning to find an albatross had shat on my bonnet and it had dried like cement I made it wet and tried to get it off but have ended up putting some fine scratches in my fresh paint Will they just polish out with SRP?

    In future whats a good way to deal with dried on bird crap ???

    Soak it before trying to remove it and remove it asap (deffo within 24 hours) basically.

    I usually squirt some AG interior cleaner on it then cover it with a wet wipe for a few minutes then wipe it off.

    If it was on your new car, that's pretty bad luck as the always seem to mark worse. I presume that's because the paint is still soft.

    I stick a wet sponge on the offending dump for half hr. Then wipe away.

    Hi Mark,

    As has been said get it off asap, and if it's even slighty dried, a wet cloth or kitchen towel left on it will help rehydrate it, then remove the cloth without rubbing, and then jetwash or hose away. The scratches you have may be removable with SRP worked over the area, if they are deeper then a machine polish would be needed.
