I toyed with it but the 150 min length put me off as I would be swapping lenses constantly plus reports say it does go a bit soft at the far end.

Most of my aircraft stuff was done between 400-600mm, in both cases using a x2 TC.
i have the 70-300mm canon lens its well built but can be a little slow at focusing at times
