Wheels not fitting at all...

Right my s13 has 18x9.5j rota gtrs on currently with et 26 offset front and rear with 25mm spacers on rear and 25mm plus a 5mm spacer on front. So i go to fit my new rota torques 17x9j et35 expecting it to give me more room behind the coilover and at the arches but ive gained nothing i couldn't even remove the extra 5mm spacer on the front.... Should these wheels at 17x9j et35 not fit without any spacers at all?

IIRC youll need a 10mm spacer on the front with that fitment to clear the coilover bud

I need a 10mm spacer thats what i thought as thats all it needed for my mates s14 ive got 25mm spacer and a 5mm on the front and if i remove the 5 mm it wont fit...

Would the amount of camber on the front wheels make a difference?

shouldn't effect clearance to the suspension, as the wheel is flat against the hub, but will effect clearance to the arch lip.

Really strange why these arent fitting there is no way 9j wheels with et35 offset need 30mm of spacers to clear the coilover...

Think i can help out with this one, i've got 17x9j torques in the same et35 fitment, i'm running apex coilovers and just about got mine to clear with a couple of washers for now until i can get hold of some spacers.
Rears fitted fine without anything at all but the front however took me nearly a day to figure out how to get them to fit without rubbing/catching the coilovers in some way or another

first i tried them at the height i was running the stocks, with a couple of washers behind making up about 3mm

initial ride height was this


then i thought well i'll raise them up abit until i can get real spacers on there
which resulted in even worse fitment



then thought well i'll up the preload (raise the top springs up a touch) as the bottom rings where clearing but tops weren't

I think i ended up moving the preload even further up, but as you can see that's A LOT of preoad and there's basically no movement from the front at the moment but i managed to get them to fit with a 3mm spacer, will take a quick picture when i get the chance for you.

If i had some more time, the lower as the original picture looks a better fitment obviously bar the fouling on the rim itself, but i will be trying to go lower as it looks like it'll allow it extra room rather than the raising which i got into my head at the time (doesn't fit, raise it), as it looks like the lower it is the further to strut sits away from the rim.
But i won't be trying that for a little while as i'll just deal with it as mine is for now as it doesn't seem to rub anywhere in the arch at this height

When i tried my 17x8J ET35 Torques on the front i had to use a 5mm spacer and it was very tight from the rim to the perches/spring. I now have 16x8J ET -10 on the front and it clears a shedload

Here's the issues I had with my Rota Torque 17x9J ET35's with a 5mm slip on spacer:

You should get away with about 6mm spacers but I'd go around 8-10mm just to be sure.

I ended up going OTT and buying 20mm wider arches are 25mm Bolt on Spacers LOL

Its cool the wheels have been sold now anyway ill just buy ones with lower than et20 offset
