Changed Turbo Gaskets and now Radio wont work?

    Hi guys,

Arguably the most bizarre thing ever and not related in the slightest.

I changed manifold and all turbo gaskets this weekend, nothing else

Now, my radio doesn't work, it wont turn on, wont fire up nothing..

I haven't take the radio yet to see what it is, but the head unit is only a month old.

Now i have used the same supply to power my Profec b, which is working..

So it sounds head unit related, but why could this have happened and what?

    Thanks

In the back of the unit? or at the aerial itself?

The aerial is part of the earth, which I found out when I didn't plug it back in and stereo wasn't working.
But searching on here I read it earths it, so once plugged back in, it was spot on

Ill take a look but it was plugged in before, not sure how i could have unplugged it..

Is it possible i could have blown the fuse in the back of the unit, obviously i was cranking it over( fuel pump fuse out) to get oil round the turbo..

    Thanks guys

Yeah, could just be a massive coincidence really, you need to get it off and have a look at it

Doesn't it earth the headunit through the metal frame it is attached to?

    Doubt it

I ran a new earth from the head unit loom down to one of the bolts on the gear stick.

Obviously whilst changing the gaskets you pissed the turbo hamster off so it slipped through the bulkhead and chewed through the stereo power lead

you are going to need a new cable plus possibly a new hamster

Yeah that's it,happens a lot unfortunately,Disturbed disgruntled turbo hamsters can cause mass devastation on biblical levels,,,,Or might be a fuse in the back of the head unit like a spade type fuse about 10amp or so,easy to check

    Big mistake

Ferrets have no experience of turbos, in fact they have very limited use in the automotive sector as their primary function is domestic based.

All that will happen is your turbo will become very laggy and only produce low boost due to the space restriction.

If you must upgrade from a hamster the best route is a rat A Turbo Rat will have a quick spool and produce good power all the way to the redline

Right I took all apart, checked every thing with trusty multi meter!

All was ok! Put it back in and by magic, I worked!

So no idea what was wrong, but hey ho, it works now!

    Thanks guys!
