R33 roll cage?

Hi noticed you did a group buy on bolt in 6 point roll cages for the r33 skyline about a year ago for roughly £350. Is there any chance of this again? do you need a certain amount of people interested to consider this? i ask as on a few skyline forums im on a lot of people are looking for roll cages for 33's that wont break the bank but theyre like hens teeth at the moment!! I could get a draft list for a group buy if i had a idea of price and also the amount of people willing to put deposits up front to avoid dreamers!

Im wary about the R33 cages as last time I had a batch made I was told up front by no end of people that they wanted one but when it came to it they pulled out and the number of sales when the shipment arrived was a lot smaller than expected.

But we can try again if theres interest.

'as you can see he would like a rough idea of amount of people after a r33 cage (considering theyre like hens teeth to get hold of unless megabucks are swapped!!) and also he is going to get me a ROUGH idea of prices and the amount of people required to get these special prices so it will give you all a clue and help you decide if you want one or not lol!

Ive also been asked about postage to ireland cost and the tubing dimensions and material used as to see if they are BDC reg's compliant? sorry for all the questions but theyre from prospective buyers! lol! steve

The group buy has nothing to do with me, its your doing so feel free to speak to Keith (bigchief). I recently closed my section on there so Im not suprised he doesnt want Apex running a GB, thats would be cheeky! He might not let you discuss one for that reason.

The cages are designed to run with the full standard interior. Youll just lose the sun visors.

I dont know current BDC regs so youd have to check the specifications to see if they meet them or not. I dont want to get invoved with specifying them re BDC regs as last time I did that the BDC said our cages werent complaint despite them meeting all published specifications on the technical section of the BDC website.

Specifications:

Theyre true bolt in cages so no welding of support brackets, just drill and bolt, job done. Sometimes you need to elongate the B pillar mounting tab holes slightly for them to line up. They fit the GTST and GTR. We only do them for the R33, we dont do them for the R32 nor R34.

Basic cage specifications

Finished in black
45 diameter 2.5mm wall thickness cold drawn steel
All the bolts are 8.8 tensile strength
Sandwich plates to mount under the floor and bolt to the cage feet
Exceed official MSA roll cage specifications

Full cages:

6 point fixing
Main hoop
Rear stays
Removable door bars
Removable rear horizontal
Front legs
Front upper screen bar
Pre painted in black - note that other companies charge extra for finish, they supply in bare metal
Fitting kit with all nuts, bolts, washers and sandwich plates

Every single cage will be assembled in our warehouse before it was packed ready for dispatch.

Prices

Retail price on the full cage £499.

If we get 20+ on board then Ill have another batch manufactured and do them for £359 a piece.

Prices INCLUDE vat

UK carriage is £17.63 per half cage, £30 per full cage. Again, our prices include vat and offer yet another saving over other companies cages

Note that the cages are manufactured to a tight tolorance so we may have removed paint from the end of bars to allow them to slot into the corresponding socket if the paint makes the diameter of the bar too great for an easy fit. You cant see the paint free section as it lives within the correspondign socket. This is something that you would have had to do so we have just made your life easier so dont be complaining to us if theres no paint at the end of one of more tubes.

Also note that we will NOT be held responsible for any damage to paint finish that occours during transit. The cages are packed well but theyre big, heavy objects and if the courier is particularly rough during transit then there maybe the odd mark or scratch.

Think of the black finish as an added bonus rather than a given.
