    Turbo questions

Hi basically I'll get straight to the point the t28 on my car has in/out play about 5mm the compressor blades are fine but it smokes

So I hoped to buy another t28 and just fit that.. However it turns out its goosed to..
Up/down play slightly I know there supported on oil but the compressor blades seem
To have hit the compressor housing and are broken, I'm
Presuming its due to excessive up/down play, I can physically make it catch on the housing without excessive force.have been told it holds boost fine and doesn't smoke.. However unsure..

Basically I'm wondering what to do... Is it possible to get
Two turbos into one decent one ? Or will I struggle to get it to balance?

Basically looking at the best course of action

I was hoping to use the internals of the second turbo a mentioned to stop the play from the first one.. As the in/ out on the second turbo is minimal

I think you'd be best off getting another turbo mate The t28 can be rebuilt but it's not cheap

Just find a good turbo. The cost of balancing the 2 individules will be as much as a good T28.

Don't take my word as gospel. It's just what I have read. Best bet is to contact driftbitz and see what they have to offer if you do need a new one. At least this way you'll have some comeback

    great!.. messaged driftbitz

really annoying how a t28 is as much as a 2871R

was expecting them to be much cheaper .. annoying how ill see like no gains from a 2871r as my engine isnt forged..

however i suppose itll do for the future although 900 is alot to spend on a old car :/

You dont need a forged engine for a 2871

Many folk rock their stock sr's well about 350hp with 2871r's.

A well mapped sr will run 400 or so with standard pistons.

As said the SR is rock solid with a 2871 .64 at good and proper pressure, they dont fall apart after 300 lol
Only when your pushing well past 400 do you want to start thinking of internals.

over read that after 400bhp its the gearbox that will give up. not the engine
